Born in 2003 in French-speaking Switzerland, Matteo Bussy is a singer and songwriter whose music lies at the intersection of folk and jazz .
His voice, both fragile and warm, carries songs, in french and english, that explore tenderness, longing, and the passing of time.
Matteo began his musical journey at the Cossonay School of Music, where he studied classical piano. During his teenage years, he shifted his focus to singing and entered the EJMA (École de Jazz et de Musique Actuelle) in Lausanne, where he discovered jazz and its freedom of expression. He started shaping his own artistic voice, blending lyrical songwriting with harmonic openness and improvisation.
He is now pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in jazz vocals at the Jazzcampus in Basel, where his music continues to evolve through close collaborations with fellow musicians.
Matteo’s compositions often reveal a cyclical sense of motion. Songs built around patterns that return and transform, evoking the repetition and renewal found in nature and memory. Rather than leading to resolution, his music invites the listener into a suspended moment, where emotions echo and time breathes slowly.
Accompanied by his ensemble — Yannick Veronesi (piano), Léo-Pol Jeannon (double bass), Samuel Berthoud (guitar), and Samuel Goupil (drums), Matteo brings to life a subtle, organic soundscape.
His upcoming debut EP, Tes Doigts Éperdus, set for release in February 2026, captures this world in its purest form: cyclical melodies and tender silences.
